Danbury shines at Class LL cheerleading competition

The Danbury Hatter cheerleaders took center stage and delivered a stellar performance at the Connecticut State Class LL Cheerleading Competition, held March 7 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven

Competing in a field of 18 teams, Danbury finished as the runner-up, scoring 167.1 points. The Hatters trailed only Shelton, which won the title with 179.4 points.

Just behind Danbury was Newtown in third place with 165 points, and Ludlowe in fourth with 160.1.

Other FCIAC teams competing were Ridgefield in seventh (141.2), Warde in eighth (140.8), Brien McMahon in ninth (140.7), Trumbull in 10th (132.4), Greenwich in 11th (131.1), Norwalk in 14th (117.4), Staples in 15th (115.9), and Westhill in 16th (114.4).

Danbury will now head to the Ninth Annual New England Interscholastic Spirit Championship at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Mass., on Saturday, March 21.
