FCIAC Spring Tournament Schedule Update

Several changes have been made to the FCIAC tournament schedule for boys and girls lacrosse, baseball and softball, and boys and girls tennis as the conference deals with the many postponements from the past week.

Boys Lacrosse

The boys lacrosse quarterfinals, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now be held on Monday, May 21, at the home sites of the top four seeds. Seedings and pairings will be announced later today.
The boys lacrosse semifinals will be held at 5 and 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, with the championship game at 7 p.m., Friday, May 25. Both of those rounds will be played at Brien McMahon High School.

Girls Lacrosse

Two quarterfinal games were held yesterday, Thursday, as No. 1 Darien defeated No. 8 Staples 18-6, and No. 2 New Canaan defeated No. 7 Ludlowe 12-5.

Two more quarterfinal games will be held on Friday. No. 5 Ridgefield plays at No. 4 Greenwich at 4:30 p.m., with No. 6 Warde playing at No. 3 Wilton at 6 p.m.

The FCIAC semifinals will be held on Monday, at Norwalk High School with the Wilton/Warde winner facing New Canaan at 5 p.m., and the Greenwich/Ridgefield winner facing Darien at 7 p.m.

The championship game will be played at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, at Norwalk High School.

Baseball

Although seven teams have clinched playoff berths, several games which will have an impact on the seeding are being played Friday through Sunday. The biggest game remaining is Friday, as Brien McMahon plays at Wilton at 4:15 p.m. If McMahon wins, they will qualify, and if McMahon loses, Ludlowe will be the eighth tournament teams.
Seeds and quarterfinal match-ups will be posted here as soon as they are final.
The FCIAC quarterfinals will be played at the home sites of the top four seeds at 4 p.m., Monday, May 21. The semifinals and final will be held at Stamford’s Cubeta Stadium, with the semis at 5 and 7:30 p.m., Tues., May 22, and the final at 7 p.m., Thurs., May 24.

Softball

Several softball games are being played on Friday, with the winner of the game between Ridgefield and Warde determining the final playoff team.
The FCIAC quarterfinals will be played at the home sites of the top four seeds at 4 p.m., Monday, May 21. The semifinals and final will be held at Sacred Heart University, with the semis at 3 and 5 p.m., Tues., May 22, and the final at 5 p.m., Thurs., May 24.

Boys Tennis

Three quarterfinals were held yesterday: Staples defeated Wilton 5-0; Greenwich defeated Ludlowe 4-0; and Darien defeated New Canaan 4-2. In the other quarterfinal match, Westhill plays at Ridgefield at 4 p.m., Friday.

The semifinals will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, with No. 4 Darien at No. 1 Staples., and the Ridgefield/Westhill winner at No. 2 Greenwich.
The final is set for Wed., May 23, at the Wilton HS courts

Girls Tennis

Three quarterfinals were held yesterday: Darien defeated Westhill 6-1; Greenwich defeated Ludlowe 6-1; and New Canaan defeated Wilton 5-2. In the other quarterfinal match, No. 7 Ridgefield plays at No. 2 Staples at 4 p.m., Friday.

The semifinals will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, with No. 4 New Canaan at No. 1 Darien., and No. 3 Greenwich either at No. 2 Staples or home against No. 7 Ridgefield. both at 4 p.m.

The final is set for Tues., May 22, at the Wilton HS courts
