Darien hockey beats Greenwich 1-0 for first state title in 46 years

For the first time since 1969, the Darien Blue Wave is the state champion in boys ice hockey.

Jack Pardue’s unassisted goal at the 5:36 mark of the second period was the only scoring, as Darien defeated Greenwich, 1-0, in the CIAC Div. I boys ice hockey final Saturday ay Yale’s Ingalls Rink.

Box Score: Darien 1, Greenwich 0

Wave goalie Will Massie had an unbelievable day, saving all 23 of Greenwich’s shots. Darien had 18 shots, and Greenwich goalie Bryan Archino made 17 saves.

Darien, which also won the FCIAC championship over Greenwich earlier this season, finished the year with a record of 24-2-1.
