Fairfield Ludlowe’s boys soccer team will play host to Norwalk High in a key FCIAC contest at Taft Field on Monday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. The rivals met in the FCIAC semifinals in 2014, with Ludlowe winning a 3-0 decision. The Falcons went on to defeat Greenwich High, 1-0, for its first league title. Norwalk took an 11-2-5 mark into states.
The match will be broadcast live on live.HAN.Network and its affiliate websites — including FCIAC.net and Fairfield-Sun.com — at 4:50 p.m. on Monday with HAN’s Rob Adams leading the call. This season, Coach Kevin O’Hara’s Ludlowe team is currently 4-2-2 with games ahead with Trinity Catholic and Westhill-Stamford. Their losses were to Bridgeport Central (3-2) and Staples-Westport (3-0). Among those back from that title-winning team are Fred Meagher in goal, and Mike McArdle, Mason Jennings and Niklas Stahle, who each scored goals in the semifinal win over Norwalk. Other returnees are All-FCIAC first-team midfielders Nick Demaso and Tulio Almeida.
Coach Chris Laughton’s Bears are captained by All-FCIAC keeper Tyler Dalton,second-team All-FCIAC sweeper Loizos Kariaskos and George Kutrubis.

Norwalk is presently 2-5-1, with wins over Trinity Catholic (7-0) and New Canaan (2-0). They have tied Trumbull (1-1). Alex Torres and Edward Mercuri had goals in the 2-0 win over New Canaan. Anthony Hernandez had two assists. Dalton stopped three shots.
Santiago Mesa, who scored seven goals in 2014, had a hat trick in the win over Trinity Catholic. He had the Bears’ goal in a 3-1 loss to Danbury High. Dalton had 9 saves.
