Former Wilton girls lax star Fowler named assistant coach at Gettysburg

Former Wilton High School All-American Kate Fowler, a three-year starting goalie for the Hamilton College Continentals’ women’s lacrosse team from 2007-09, will be joining the Gettysburg Bullets as an assistant coach next spring.

Gettysburg, an NCAA Div. IIII program, is lead by head coach Carol Cantele, who ranks sixth in NCAA women’s lacrosse history with 329 victories in 25 seasons, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

“Gettysburg has been one of the top women’s lacrosse programs in Division III for years now,” Fowler told J.B. Cozens of the Wilton Bulletin. “I think it’s a great opportunity for me to work with one of the best lacrosse coaches in the country, Carol Cantele. “I’m really thankful that coach Cantele has given me this opportunity.”
