Emily Coyle, Darien

This three-point shooting specialist for the girls’ basketball team is an excellent student who also volunteers for several community organizations.

She has taken AP Biology, AP Calculus and AP Statistics. Emily was chosen to participate in Darien’s IDEA program, and through that she constructed an instrument to help children with Autism.

Julia Pangallo, Fairfield Ludlowe

Alexis Lucas, Danbury

This excellent cheerleader has been an Honor Roll student in every grade and every school since sixth grade. She has a 3.5588 GPA at Danbury High while taking many high honor classes and is ranked 142nd out of her class of 661.

Alexis has received the President’s Award, multiple High Honor letters from Mayor Mark Boughton, she is a member of DECA and has tutored and been an counselor at several cheerleading and gymnastics camps.

Karen Brosko, Wilton

Karen has been a High Honors student every year and has a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.95 while taking mostly Honors and AP courses. She received the University of Virginia Book Award for her scholarship, leadership and citizenship in high school.

This member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society will attend Wake Forest in the Fall of 2016.

She is also a stellar player for the girls’ soccer and girls’ basketball teams, having played a vital role toward helping the girls’ basketball team win the Class LL state championship in 2015. She made All-FCIAC Honorable Mention twice in basketball.

Karen has participated on two church mission trips, offering support and helping repair communities in North Carolina and New Mexico. She also teaches a basketball clinic for younger players and referees for youth leagues.

Taylor Ingerman, Wilton

This well-rounded leader has been captain of the girls’ soccer, girls’ basketball and tennis varsity teams and was the school’s recipient of the National Heisman Award this past October. Taylor has many athletic awards and accomplishments, among them being a member of the Class LL state championship basketball team in 2015 and a member of a couple doubles state championship teams in tennis while helping the Wilton team win a state title.

Taylor has achieved a 3.66 GPA while taking challenging courses such as Spanish IV-V Honors, AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Environmental Science, Great Works of Literature Honors, and AP Statistics.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, and a volunteer for several organizations such as Operation Smile and The Ridge Equestrian School, and at Saint Philip Parish.

Jenna Martino, St. Joseph

Jenna has been a varsity cheerleader and an Honor Roll student while taking demanding courses such as Honors 1 Science and Honors 2 Mathematics as a freshman and sophomore.

She is a member of Campus Ministry, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and will participate in a Peru Mission Trip this summer.

Mia Trafecante, St. Joseph

This sophomore has been a High Honor Roll student and a member of the cheerleading and girls’ lacrosse teams throughout her first two years in high school.

Mia has also been a member of the Math Team, SADD Club and Campus Ministry.

Kristina Vetter, Trumbull

Kristina has been a four-year member of the girls’ varsity basketball team who was selected to the Masuk Holiday Tournament All-Tournament Team as a sophomore.

She consistently makes Honor Roll, has a 4.38 GPA, has registered scores of 32 on the ACT and 1,940 on the SAT, and she is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.

Danielle Herman, Danbury

Samantha Aparicio, Darien

This excellent student-athlete has been one of the best all-around gymnasts in the FCIAC the past couple years.

As a sophomore in 2015 she was the all-around champion at the FCIAC Championships with a score of 35.4 while leading Darien to its first conference team title in five years and this year she was the runner-up all-arounder with a score of 37.1 while leading the Blue Wave to second place at the FCIAC Championships.

Meaghan Downey, Wilton

Meaghan is one of the best distance runners for Wilton’s perennially-strong program, having made the All-FCIAC Second Team in cross country for two consecutive years. She was also the team MVP for the junior varsity girls’ basketball team for the 2014-15 season.

She is a member of the National Honor Society who is consistently a High Honor and Honor Roll student.
