Bhushan has consistently made Honor Roll and achieved a 5.1 weighted GPA while taking six AP classes and seven Honors classes the last few years. He is currently taking four AP classes along with orchestra and Multi-variable Calculus.

He is an AP Scholar with distinction and a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Journalism Honor Society.

Bhushan has also run all three seasons the last two years for the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field programs and he is a strong hurdler who was voted team captain for both track programs.

Nicholas Roldan, Norwalk

Matthew Cavanagh, Norwalk

Matt began playing hockey when he was five years old and was team captain of the Norwalk/McMahon co-op hockey team this year after having been assistant captain last year. He scored the winning goal in a pivotal victory over Wilton and the co-op team won its last game of the year to qualify for the state tournament for the first time in 10 years.

He is an excellent student, having been on the Honor Roll with high honors all four years and last year as a junior he was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Matt has been accepted to five colleges and is considering a career in law, as he gained valuable experience as an intern on the Norwalk mayoral campaign for Mayor Harry Rilling.

Jenna Lefort, Trinity Catholic

Jenna was a tri-captain this winter during her fourth year playing for the girls’ basketball program and she was also a member of the girls’ soccer program during her first two years.

She currently has High Honors with her 3.68 GPA and has been Honors or High Honors for most of her career while taking many Honors and AP courses.

This senior has been on the Headmasters List all four years since her freshman year, she’s been a member of the National Honor Society as a junior and a senior, and this senior year she became a member of the Educators Rising Honors Society.

Allison has been a key cog for the successful girls basketball and girls volleyball programs for the last four years.

Amanda Friedman, Westhill

Zachary Pear, Darien

Zachary has delivered consistent improvement with each succeeding year as a student and an athlete. His GPA has gotten a little bit higher each year since his freshman year to the current point at which he has a 4.43 weighted GPA during this senior year to have picked his cumulative GPA averages up to 4.24 weighted and 3.93 unweighted.

This member of the National Honor Society is a National Merit Commended Scholar, a recipient of the Trinity College Book Award, and he’s also a member of the National Latin Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. He has extremely high SAT scores of 2,340 super-score and 2,330 single sitting and has taken or is currently taking diverse, challenging courses such as AP Biology, AP U.S. History, AP Physicas C-Mechanics, AP Statistics, AP BC Calculus, AP English Language and Composition, and AP Computer Science.

And he also excels in the pool as well as the classroom as he has been among the top distance freestyle and butterfly swimmers in the state in the past couple seasons. His recent accomplishments were placing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.34 and third in the 500 free (4:43.21) to help the Blue Wave place second at the 2015-16 FCIAC Boys Swimming and Diving Championships.

With wide-ranging talents and interests, Zachary has been an accomplished saxophonist for the Darien High School Band since 2012, he was co-founder of the Cinematic Analysis Club at Darien High, and he volunteers for several community programs, including being the organizer of the “Make a Splash” scholarship-funded program at Chelsea Piers that teaches underpriveleged children in Stamford how to swim.

This excellent student was among the best wrestlers in the state during this past senior and certainly one of the best wrestlers in school history as he is now the school record holder for most career wins with 152.

Chase has been co-captain the past two years and he culminated a great senior year, particularly in the postseason championship meets, in which the 160-pounder became Ludlowe’s first three-time FCIAC champion, was finalist in the state Class L tournament and a third-place finisher at the State Open. He finished 40-2 this year to set the school record for career wins. He is also captain of the rugby team and selected All-State and All-New England.

Chase has registered a 3.7 GPA as Honors student every semester, and he is a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America.

Emery Wallace, Fairfield Ludlowe

Gina Moriello, Trumbull

Gina is an excellent goalie for the girls’ ice hockey team and has been team captain from 2014-16. She was especially stellar in goal when she hung tough against the powerful Darien offense and had to make 80 saves in the game.

She also excels in the classroom and has achieved either Honors or High Honors throughout her career.

Gina has also volunteered more than 100 hours of community service during high school, having volunteered for New Life Church Summer Camp and the Norwalk Police Department DARE Camp.

Eddie O’Hara, Norwalk

Jessica Giglio, Norwalk

Jessica has achieved High Honors all four years, she is ranked in the top 20 percent of her class and was inducted into the National Honor Society in June of 2015.

She played all four years for the volleyball program and received the Coaches Award during her senior year, she will soon begin her fourth year with the softball program and she was also a member of the girls’ basketball team.

Jessica also to the community as a volunteer for Al’s Angels and Seniors Helping Seniors.

Grace Eaton, Trumbull

Grace has been awarded Honors or High Honors every semester, she has consistently improved her GPA every semester since her freshman year while taking many Advanced College Prep courses, and she achieved a 3.95 GPA in her most recent marking period.

Two years ago she was the only freshman who made the varsity cheerleading team and was chosen team captain as a junior. Trumbull was runner-up during her freshman and junior years and it placed third when she was a sophomore at FCIAC competitions.

Grace has wide-ranging interests and volunteers for several community organizations. She is a member of the French Club and the Trumbull High School Concert Choir. She also volunteers for middle school and elementary school summer cheer camp programs along with a gymnastics instructor at Gymnastics and Cheerleading Academy in Fairfield.

Marcel dedicates himself to playing basketball all year round and has excelled in his studies to have registered a 3.8 cumulative while taking all Honors or other higher classes. He has been on the Honor Roll and in the Honor Society his entire high school career and last semester he achieved his goal of earning a 4.0 GPA on his report card. He has also received six college credits from completion of two Dale Carnegie courses, along with becoming a certified trainer.

His dedication on the basketball court has enabled him to start for the varsity team since his sophomore year as the point guard and has become the team leader in scoring, assists, three-point shooting and free throws.

Libby has been a varsity cheerleader since her freshman year, she’s been the team captain during these last two junior and senior years, and she was recently awarded the seventh All-FCIAC Cheerleader Award.

She has been and A/B student and during her second semester as a senior she raised her GPA to 4.1494, the highest it has ever been. She is most proud that she has consistently improved in the classroom and as a cheerleader throughout high school.

Teyah Green, Brien McMahon

Teyah is an outstanding senior student-athlete who knows how to work hard and play hard both on and off the field. She has made High Honor Roll every semester since her freshman year while currently taking three challenging AP classes and two honors classes. She is ranked among the top 11 percent of her class with her 4.29 GPA.

Teyah has been a sprinter for the track and field teams for the last three years and has shown steady improvement to consistently beat her previous personal record with each succeeding meet. She was a co-captain as a junior and will again be co-captain for the upcoming outdoor track and field season.

She also volunteers for the community by assisting elementary and pre-school children in educational programs at the local public library. Teyah will major in nursing in the fall with plans of continuing her career as a student-athlete in college as a sprinter.

Daniel Linehan, Brien McMahon

Daniel excels in the classroom and on the track oval for the Senators as he consistently lowered his times as he scored many points to help them place second at the CIAC Boys Indoor Track and Field State Open and state Class LL championship meets this past winter.

He scored 16 big points at the State Open when he placed second with excellent times of 35.58 in the 300-meter run and 1:22.42 in the 600. Daniel also scored 16 points the previous week at the Class LL meet when he won the 300 in 35.88 and placed third in the 600 with a 1:24.56. He was also FCIAC champion in the 300 (36.5).

As for his academic excellence, this National Honor Society member has made High Honors/Honors every quarter while taking multiple AP courses, he was nominated for the Youth Leaders Conference and has earned a PLTW college credit for Principles of Engineering.

Ailing Brock, Greenwich

Victor Simonte, Greenwich

This two-year member of the boys’ basketball team had a 4.7 GPA during his junior and senior years and he racked up a score of 2,310 on his SAT and a 35 on his ACT.

Victor became a National AP Scholar in 2015 and he is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Honor Society.

He earned the Junior Book Award from the Greenwich Historical Society, which he was given in recognition of his work with the Greenwich Wounded Warriors Project and dedication to local history. Victor also received the National Science League Biology Award and the Social Studies Department Award for Innovative Use of Technology.

Andrew Tregortha, Greenwich

Victoria Nazworth, Ridgefield

Victoria began her career as a freshman soccer player but then switched to track and field and steadily improved to where she became one of the best hurdlers of varying distances in the FCIAC during the indoor and outdoor campaigns.

She placed third in the 300-meter hurdles and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2015 FCIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She was team was the indoor team captain from 2015-16 and will also captain the outdoor team this spring. Victoria received the Most Improved Athlete Award in 2014 and the Most Dedicated Athlete Award in 2015.

This National Honor Society member has a 4.083 GPA. She received Earth Science Academic Recognition in 2013, and in 2015 she received Drawing Illustration Academic Recognition.
