The New Canaan Rams and John Jay Indians will square off in an early-season girls lacrosse battle at Dunning Field, and you can catch all the action live in streaming HD on the HAN Network at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday.

The game can been seen at FCIAC.net, NCAdvertiser.com, HAN.network, and all of the Network’s websites.

New Canaan, which is led by head coach Kristin Woods, comes in following a season-opening 16-1 rout of the Westhill Vikings on Saturday.

The Rams were 20-4 last season and won their fourth state championship in six seasons when they topped Daniel Hand 13-7 in the Class M final.

They feature four multi-sport athletes as captains, including defender Mia Carroll, midfielder Sami Stewart, who had a hat trick in Saturday’s win, and attackers Catherine Granito and Kylie Murphy. New Canaan also returns juniors Ellery Baran on defense and Campbell Armstrong at midfield.

The Rams goalie situation includes three players who are in the mix to take over for Bailey Pilder, who graduated last June. The goalies include sophomore Cameron Blair and freshman Caroline O’Dea, each of whom played on Saturday, and senior Ellie Aliapoulios, who joined the team this year.

John Jay has slipped out of the gate against a pair of tough teams, losing to Yorktown 15-5, and Scarsdale 17-5 in the first two games.

Section 1 Class B semifinalists last season, the Indians had an 11-6-1 record, but graduated the majority of its offense and is in a bit of a rebuilding mode.

John Jay does feature some senior leadership on the defensive end, as Hailey Spencer and Tierney Spencer are returning starters who have played in the varsity program for four seasons.

Senior Kelly McKeon has taken over in goal after backing up last year, and other players to watch include Danielle Galea, a midfielder, and Jacque Manno, who has seen time on defense, attack and midfield.
