Dan Bernard went 4-for-4, with two doubles and a triple, and drove in three runs when the Crusaders defeated Stratford High 9-2.

Sophia Barbour, Darien Softball
Barbour, a junior pitcher, held rival New Canaan to one run on four hits over seven innings as the Wave won, 14-1, Friday in Waveny Park. Barbour walked one and fanned nine, and was a force at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with a double and a home run.
Andrew Winsch, Darien Baseball
Winsch fired a gem to lead Darien to an 8-0 victory over rival New Canaan at the DHS turf field. Winsch worked a complete game, allowing just two singles and two walks while striking out seven. New Canaan had just one runner reach second base.
Matt Gulyas, Brien McMahon Baseball
Matt Gulyas hit a three-run home run and added a single for the Senators in their 8-2 victory over Westhill.
Ally Szabo, Trumbull Softball
Ally Szabo struck out 12 batters and pitched a four-hit shutout in the Eagles’ 5-0 win over Warde. She followed that on Saturday with another fine performance, striking out 12 more in five innings in an 8-3 win over New Canaan.
Hanna Errico, St. Joseph Softball
Hanna Errico drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Cadets defeated Ludlowe, 3-2. She had two hits.
Saturday, April 16
Drew Morris, New Canaan Lacrosse
Morris collected 13 saves as the New Canaan Rams topped Brunswick Bruins, 13-8, in a battle of two teams ranked in the nation’s top 10 on Saturday night. The junior goalie also made seven saves in an 11-2 win over Wilton earlier in the week. New Canaan is 5-0.
Paige Mautner, Greenwich Girls Lacrosse
Paige Mautner scored six goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead the Greenwich High girls lacrosse team to a 12-11 overtime victory over Wilton at GHS.
Colin Minicus had four points in two goals and two assists when the Blue Wave knocked off Manhasset of Long Island, 11-8, in the annual Battle of the Sound Saturday in Ridgefield.
Michale Reale, Staples Boys Lacrosse
Reale scored five goals and dished out one assist in the Wreckers’ 10-2 win over Kellenberg Memorial from New York on Saturday.
Holly Rivers and Faith Watson, Danbury Girls Lacrosse
Rivers and Watson each had four goals and one assist as the Hatters rolled past New Milford, 18-9 at Danbury High School. Danbury led 10-5 at halftime.
Cole Carpenter, Westhill Boys Lacrosse
Cole Carpenter had five goals for the Vikings in their 15-2 victory over Bridgeport Central.
