Darien and Greenwich unbeaten atop FCIAC volleyball standings

With three weeks of volleyball in the books, the Darien Blue Wave and Greenwich Cardinals are the last two unbeaten teams in the FCIAC, but they have several contenders nipping at their heels heading into play on Monday.

Darien leads the pack with a 7-0 record, with Greenwich rolling at 6-0 so far. Ludlowe (6-1), Ridgefield (6-1), Stamford (6-1), and Staples (5-1) are all just a step behind with one loss apiece.

St. Joseph (5-2) and Warde (4-2) are next on the ladder, as eight teams will qualify for the FCIAC tournament, which begins with the quarterfinal round on Monday, Oct. 28.

Ridgefield’s game at Darien is the centerpiece of Monday’s schedule, while St. Joseph at Trumbull (3-3), Stamford at Trinity Catholic (3-3), and Warde at Danbury (4-3) all feature head-to-head match-ups of teams which are at or above the .500 mark.
