FCIAC golfers ready to hit the greens for Connecticut Open

Several current and former FCIAC golf stars will be in in action this week, as the Woodway Country Club in Darien hosts the 82nd Connecticut Open Championship.

The first round and second rounds will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and the top 40 players after 36 holes will advance to the final round on Wednesday.

New Canaan High School will be represented by three former Rams: Greg Reilly, Jr. of the Country Club of Darien; C.J. Swift of Great River Golf Club; and Justin Clark of Rolling Hills Country Club. Swift tees off at 9:10 a.m., Clark tees off at 1 p.m.; and Reilly tees off at 1:40.

Clark, a 2016 graduate of NCHS, won the FCIAC’s Hap Holahan Invitational this spring.

The Ridgefield Tigers will be represented by Corey Birch of Silver Spring Country Club; and Jonathan Spicci of Rock Ridge Country Club. Birch will tee off at 8:30 a.m., with Spicci starting at 1:30 p.m.

Danbury’s Max Theodorakis of Ridgewood CC, who took medalist honors at both the FCIAC and CIAC Div. I championships this spring, will tee off at 9:20 a.m.

Greenwich’s Paul Pastore of the Middlesex Eclub will tee off at 8:50 a.m.; Darien’s Bobby Osborn of the Country Club of Darien will tee off at 12:50 p.m.; and Trinity Catholic’s Michael Ballo of Woodway CC will tee off at 2:20 p.m.
