Seven of the eight playoff teams had been determined prior to Wednesday’s games, with the Wilton Warriors (9-6-1) becoming the final team in the door by beating Ludlowe, 3-0, at Kristine Lilly Field.

In a head-to-head battle at the top of the standings, the Staples Wreckers (12-3-1) and St. Joseph Cadets (11-1-4) played to a 1-1 tie and both finished with 37 points.

In a night game, the Warde Mustangs hosted Ridgefield and defeated the Tigers, 2-0, to finish 12-3-1 with 37 points.

That forged a three-way tie for first place between Staples, St. Joseph and Warde

Warde lost to both Staples and St. Joseph this season, so the Mustangs are the No. 3 seed.

The quality wins criteria was used to break the tie between Staples and St. Joe’s, with the Wreckers earning the No. 1 spot based on their win over Ridgefield on Oct. 11. The Cadets, who lost to Ridgefield on Oct. 9, are the No. 2 seed.

Ridgefield’s loss to Warde dropped the Tigers (11-2-3) to No. 4, with Darien (11-2-3) at No. 5. Ridgefield defeated Darien on Oct. 2 and took the higher seed on the tiebreaker.

Trumbull (10-3-3), which edged Danbury 2-1, is No. 6; followed by Brien McMahon (10-4-2) at No. 7; and Wilton at No. 8.
