Seth Fry named new Warde’s new athletic director

Seth Fry has been named the new Athletic Director at Fairfield Warde High School.

Fry has been teaching at Fairfield High School and then Fairfield Warde High School for the past 14 years, where he has been greatly involved in the educational, athletic and extracurricular experiences of the students in the school.

His contributions originated as a teacher of mathematics, but quickly expanded to working with student-athletes.

His passion for teaching and athletics has allowed him to serve as a member of the FWHS Athletic Department in the capacity of a sub-varsity coach for several boys and girls teams including basketball, baseball, softball and soccer. He has assisted the varsity coaches he has worked for with all of their duties including organizing practices, communicating with parents, and attending both league and officials’ meetings. He has contributed to sporting events by assisting with time keeping, scoring, ticket selling, announcing, as well as facility and field maintenance.

When Fairfield High School became Fairfield Warde High School in 2005, Fry was named the Director of Student Activities. Since then he has worked to organize school-wide assemblies and oversee all of the non-athletic extracurricular activities at the school. He also served as a club advisor for several organizations throughout his career in Fairfield, as well as being a cooperating teacher and mentor teacher.

Fry said he is looking forward to enhancing student involvement in the athletic department through collaborative efforts with the administration, teachers, coaches, support staff, students and parents. He is proud and excited to be an Athletic Director in the FCIAC.
