Elizabeth Abercrombie, Ridgefield

Elizabeth has been a member of the girls’ basketball program for four years, for three years she was on the girls’ swimming and diving team, and she was also a member of the girls’ lacrosse and varsity cheer teams. She has received the Tiger Pride Award for both cheerleading and basketball and the Outstanding Achievement Award for swimming.

She has earned a 4.06 GPA while taking many Honors and AP classes. She is a member of the National Honor Society and co-president of the RHS Green Effect Club. Elizabeth has received school awards for Excellence in Biology Honors, Spanish II, Global History II Honors and Achievement in Global History I Honors and Marketing I. She also received the High Point University Book Award.

Elizabeth has also volunteered for the past four years as a student coach for the Ridgefield Youth Cheer program, coaching three national championship teams. She also helped raise funds for the American Cancer Society as a participant of the Relay for Life team for the past four years.

Cate Allen, Fairfield Warde

Cate is a phenomenal freshman distance runner for the girls’ indoor track and field team who played for the girls’ soccer team in the fall.

She won the 1,600-meter race at the 2011 FCIAC Girls Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 5:16.7. Cate then won the CIAC State Class L Championships 1,600 in 5:18.75 and a week later she lowered that time by more than 10 seconds when she placed seventh among a quality field at the State Open with a personal-best time of 5:08.61.

Cate also excels in the classroom as she has a 3.9 GPA.

Kelly Anderson, Trinity Catholic

Emily Armstrong, Fairfield Ludlowe

Emily has been among the top girls’ basketball players in the FCIAC for the last couple years, having been selected to the All-FCIAC second team last year and been selected as the team MVP in her sophomore and junior years.

She has earned honors throughout high school while getting her GPA up to 3.6 and has been a Ludlowe leader in helping freshmen adjust to high school.

Emily has worked two jobs during the last year – working since last March at Gofer Ice Cream in Fairfield and also working at the Penfield Beach concession stand during last summer. Emily, who will attend Pace University this coming fall, has also given to the community as a volunteer for several organizations, including helping feed the homeless.

Scott Feder, Staples

This senior captain excels in the pool as a swimmer and in the classroom as a student.

Scott has previously qualified for state class and State Open championship meets and is among the Wreckers on the record-setting 200-meter freestyle relay team. This AP Scholar has achieved Academic First Honors and is a National Merit Scholar finalist.

Jake Felman, Staples

Bryan Galvin, Ridgefield

Bryan has been the starting point guard for the Ridgefield Tigers for the past three years. This year he is co-captain and continues to be the floor leader.

An honor roll student, he maintains a 3.9 GPA and continues to challenge himself with AP courses. He is a member of the National Honor Society and past treasurerof Future Business Leaders of America.

Bryan volunteers locally at St. Mary's Church as a religious education instructor. He will be playing basketball at Wesleyan University.

Wideline Guerrier, Bassick

Mark Hendrickson, AITE (Stamford)

Mark is a freshman on the Westhill/Stamford cooperative boys’ swimming and diving team who has been in the lineup and scored key points in every dual meet.

He achieved an unweighted 3.94 GPA in the first quarter and an unweighted 3.98 in the second quarter while being enrolled in all Honors courses.

Mark is a Boy Scout in Stamford’s Troop 9, his current rank is Star and his goal is to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jakobi Jackson, Stamford

Jakobi is a junior student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom and in the pool as a member of the Westhill/Stamford cooperative boys’ swimming and diving team.

He has made the Honor Roll every quarter of his high school career while maintaining a 3.5 GPA and was selected as a Connecticut Swimming Scholar-Athlete during the 2009-10 school season.

Jakobi is a certified lifeguard and has volunteered as a Swim Lesson Instructor and Lifeguard at the Stamford JCC Summer Camp. He has been a member of USA Swimming and the Sharks swim team since 2007.

Kevin Keller, Darien

Kevin has excelled in the classroom and as an athlete for Darien’s boys’ track and field program throughout his high school career.

His athletic highlights include setting school records in the triple jump : (46 feet, 4 inches), the 200-meter dash (23.15) and the 300 (35.82), and he was also a member of four relay teams that set school records. Kevin won the 300 and long jump in the 2001 FCIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, and then he won the 300 and was runner-up in the long jump in the CIAC Class L meet. His most recent highlight was running the anchor leg to seal the victory for Darien in the 4x200 relay in the State Open Indoor Track and Field Championships. He also placed third in the 300 in that meet when he set his school record.

Kevin will continue his career as a track athlete at Bucknell University. He maintains a 3.6 GPA while taking demanding classes such as AP Calculus and AP Environmental Science. He also volunteers for the Safe Rides Program.

Katherine Larson, Trumbull

This four-year member of the indoor track and field team, now a senior captain, has been a key member who has placed high and scored significant points in championship meets. Katherine placed third in the 55-meter hurdles, she anchored the 4x200 relay team that placed fourth and was also a member of the sprint medley relay team that placed sixth.

Katherine was also a member of Trumbull’s girls cross country team the last two years and she plays premier soccer for the Connecticut Football Club.

She maintains a solid 3.7 GPA with a challenging schedule of Honors and AP classes and is a member of the National Honors Society. Katherine serves as the vice president of the Spanish Club and is a Student Council representative.

In addition, Katherine volunteers for several community organizations. She helps lead high school and middle school students through her role as Connecticut State President of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She also teaches Sunday school for 3rd- and 4th-graders.

Rottisha Lewis, Norwalk

Rottisha has much success as a key member of the girls’ basketball, girls’ volleyball and girls’ outdoor track and field teams, and she has also been an excellent student throughout her high school career.

She has played all four years for the basketball team and has been a captain the last two years. Rottisha also was a solid player for her AAU club team, the Connecticut Premier, and she is a McDonald’s All-American nominee. She has been on the volleyball team and track team for three years. In track, she has placed very high in several championship meets as a long jumper, triple jumper and sprinter.

This honor student is also a Student Government representative and a member of the Honors Society.

Rottisha also gives of herself to the community. She has volunteered at Church, Children’s Ministry for the last four years, she also volunteers at Puppies of Westport, she is a member of the NAACP and is a participant in the Leaders of Tomorrow program.

Kevin Robitaille, St. Joseph

Kevin has played all four years for the St. Joseph’s ice hockey team that won the CIAC Division III state championship two years ago and was the CIAC Division II runner-up last year.

He has accumulated a 3.7 GPA by making the Honor Roll every semester since his first semester as a freshman and he is a member of the Spanish National Honors Society.

Tomoya Sakaguchi, Fairfield Ludlowe

Tomoya, a four-year member of the swimming and diving team and a captain for the last two years at Ludlowe, has an excellent GPA of 3.9 with a demanding load of coursework that includes AP Calculus BC, AP Economics, AP Biology,, AP Statistics, and AP Chemistry.

In addition, Tomoya has made the Headmasters List for seven quarters and the Honor Roll for six quarters, and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honors Society), Science Honors Society and National Honors Society.

Emily Tropsa, Darien

This junior has been a member of Darien’s girls’ varsity ice hockey team during all three of her years in high school and she was All-FCIAC honorable mention last year. She has also played for the varsity girls’ lacrosse team.

Emily has a 3.6 GPA. She is a member of the Eco-Citizens Club at Darien High.

Emily volunteers as a mentor for the Southern Connecticut Storm special needs hockey program and she is also a member of the Darien Youth Asset Team which focuses on building assets among teenagers within the community.

Andrew Vietze, Trumbull

Andrew has been the captain of the varsity boys ice hockey team for the last two years and has played varsity golf since his freshman year.

He has a cumulative GPA of 4.7 and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Latin Honor Society.

Andrew has also volunteered for AmeriCares.

Marguerite Winstead, Fairfield Warde

Marguerite is an excellent student-athlete who has been a key contributor for many of Warde’s teams.

She has been on the varsity girls’ lacrosse team since her freshman year. She was a team captain who made the All-FCIAC second team last year and she’ll be a team captain again this coming spring. She was also a varsity member for the girls’ soccer team, the girls’ indoor track and field team for her first two years and for the girls’ varsity basketball team for the last two years.

Marguerite has been a member of the National Honors Society and the Mathematics Honors Society for the last two years, and she also received Scholar and Excellence recognition for Art and for Health during her freshman and sophomore years.
