Reid Andren, Fairfield Ludlowe
Ali Aparicio, Darien
Ali is a three-sport athlete who has compiled a 4.112 GPA while taking several Honors courses.
She is involved in several extracurricular activities, including student government, and during her upcoming senior year she will be the Community Council Executive Secretary.
Ali helped lead the Darien softball team to the FCIAC championship when she was a sophomore. She is also a member of the girls’ cross country and girls’ basketball teams.
This excellent student plans to continue her studies with all AP classes and is looking forward to continuing her independent science research project, with major emphasis on molecular biology and circadian rhythms.
Emily Blosio, Darien
Barbara Callahan, Greenwich
Barbara is a National Merit Commended Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinction, and was named to the National Honors Society.
She has been a starter for the softball team since her freshman year, was a co-captain this past year and selected to the All-FCIAC second team.
Barbara is involved in Student Government and is a tutor for the Stand By Me program, she’s a member of the Go Green Club, and she serves as Vice President and Team Leader of the Greenwich Safe Rides program.
Amanda Capela, Saint Joseph
Amanda was a four-year member of the girls’ tennis team, serving as a team captain during her last two years, and she also earned several academic awards and was a member of many extracurricular and volunteer organizations.
She made Honor Roll during all four years, was a Student Ambassador and a member of the Spanish National Honors Society, the Pep Club, the Red Cross Club and the Yearbook Committee.
Amanda tutored freshmen in Spanish, assembled Thanksgiving food baskets as a volunteer on the Connecticut Basket Brigade, she also volunteered for the Norwalk Emergency Shelter and several other organizations.
Morgan Delbene, Norwalk
Kathryn Eckhoff, Ridgefield
Kathryn has earned several awards academically and athletically.
This year she received Excellence in Chemistry Honors, Excellence in French III and Achievement in English II Honors, she placed 14th in Connecticut and 15th nationally on the National French Test Level III, and the two-year varsity starter as a third baseman for the softball team received the Tiger Pride award for this year’s team.
Kathryn had a .312 batting average, a .411 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage during the regular season for the Tigers.
Mark Fesenmeyer, Brien McMahon
Emma Hamilton, Darien
Graham Hotchkiss, Darien
Graham was a solid multi-sport athlete for the Blue Wave.
During this past senior season of his, Graham was the starting goalkeeper for the boys’ soccer team, he started for the boys’ basketball team during the winter, and he was an outstanding high jumper for the boys’ outdoor track and field team, having placed sixth in the state Class L championship meet.
As a junior, Graham competed in indoor track and placed third in the high jump in the FCIAC championship meet, and he was also a starter for the boys’ volleyball team that was runner-up in the FCIAC.
Morgan Hyland, Ridgefield
Morgan has achieved High Honor Roll every quarter during her high school career with a GPA of 4.18 while taking all honors and AP classes. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been a Student Government Officer for her class. She has received awards for several classes including Algebra II Honors, English Honors and Spanish Honors.
Morgan was on the girls’ volleyball and lacrosse teams for the previous two years and will be a captain of both of those teams during her senior year. She was selected to the All-FCIAC first team in lacrosse as a defender.
Outside of school, Morgan coaches youth girls basketball and lacrosse. She also dedicates a lot of her time to community service through her participation in National Charity League.
Jack Kennard, Wilton
Jack made the boys’ varsity golf team as a sophomore and was named a team captain for his junior and senior years. He shot an 89 on a difficult course in the state tournament.
He has been a diligent student who has accumulated a 3.67 GPA.
Michael Krupnik, Wilton
Michael was a key member of the boys’ golf team and a solid student who compiled an unweighted GPA of 3.59 while taking several honors and AP courses.
He shot a 39 during the regular season on Ridgefield s home course and he carded an 89 at Crestbrook Park Golf Course in Watertown to help Wilton place 13th at the CIAC Division II State Tournament.
Michael plans on majoring in business at the University of Richmond this coming fall.
Jasmine Li, Stamford
Jasmine completed an excellent freshman senior as a student and an athlete.
With a goal of playing Division I field hockey in college, Jasmine got her career off to a positive start as she made All-FCIAC honorable mention while helping Stamford win the FCIAC West Division championship. She also was a starter for the girls’ lacrosse team.
Jasmine had an unweighted GPA of 3.97 while taking all honors classes except Spanish.
Kaitlin Maciejewski, Fairfield Ludlowe
Nicholas Maki, Staples
Nicholas has earned first honors every quarter with a 4.1 GPA. He is a member of the National Honors Society and has earned awards in several classes, including excellence in Physics and Chemistry.
He also excelled on the lacrosse field as a three-year starting midfielder. He helped the Wreckers compile a 33-7 record and advance to the state semifinals during the 2010 and ’11 seasons and compiled 25 goals and 20 assists this past season.
Chris McCormack, Saint Joseph
Chris played varsity boys’ hockey for all four years for an ever-improving program that won the state Division III championship during his sophomore year, advanced to the Division II final when he was a junior and then advanced to the Division I final when he was a senior.
He maintained a 3.4 GPA throughout his junior and senior years.
Chris also played varsity baseball for three years and made the All-FCIAC East team as a senior.
Eric Morrissey, Saint Joseph
Eric was a solid student-athlete who was involved in many school clubs and community volunteer programs and he also has several hobbies.
He was a captain of the boys’ volleyball team during his junior and senior years, having earned All-FCIAC honorable mention status during both of those years.
Eric made the Principal’s Honor Roll every semester as a junior and senior, he was a Student Ambassador during his last two years, a member of the Irish Club during his first two years, and he was a Feed the Hungry volunteer at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission among the several things he volunteered for.
Eric also plays guitar and the piano.
Colleen Murphy, Saint Joseph
Eleni Petridis, Norwalk
This three-year member of Norwalk’s varsity softball team is a superb student who has compiled a 3.75 GPA while taking all honors or AP courses during her junior year.
She has earned high honors every quarter at Norwalk High and is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Eleni had an excellent year in softball this past year as a junior as she had a .469 batting average and was selected to the All-FCIAC second team.
Nicole Roman-Johnston, Wilton
Lexie Schachne, Staples
Lexie is an excellent pole vaulter as she was ranked No. 1 in Connecticut and 53rd nationally in the event. She first set the school record last year as a sophomore and currently holds the Staples school record of 11 feet, 8 1/2 inches.
She has won the “S” Pin Award as Staples most outstanding performer on many of her teams during the past several seasons.
Lexie is also an excellent student, having made First Honors in every quarter, and is involved in many extracurricular activities. She is in the National Honor Society, the Chinese National Honor Society, she received the World Language Chinese Award, the World Language Spanish Award and she was involved in the Student Athlete Leadership Seminar in 2010.
Mary Sciglimpaglia, Norwalk
Mary was a second baseman for the softball program who earned All-FCIAC honorable mention status as a sophomore. She also played for the junior varsity soccer team the previous two years.
She has compiled a 3.6 GPA while taking three honors classes as a freshman, five honors classes as a sophomore and three honors classes and one AP class during this past junior year. Mary received honors as a freshman and high honors as a sophomore and junior.
Patti Sciglimpaglia, Norwalk
Patti has been a key player for the Norwalk softball program for the past couple years, having been selected to the 2010 All-FCIAC second team as a sophomore and earning All-FCIAC honorable mention as a pitcher this past spring.
She is also a member of the girls’ soccer and girls’ basketball programs.
Patti has received honors during her freshman year, high honors during her sophomore and junior years and she was awarded the CAPT Master during her sophomore year.
Samantha Steichen, Danbury
Samantha has maintained a high GPA while talking honors classes since she entered high school and is also a valuable member of the girls’ swimming and girls’ golf teams.
Two spring seasons ago she was the only freshman on the golf team, she received the Sportsmanship Award and this past spring she played in the second or third spots for the team.
Samantha is very dedicated to golf and hopes to pursue it while continuing to maintain a high GPA in college.
Kevin Sullivan, Fairfield Warde
Kevin is a solid student who has been a key member of the football and boys tennis teams for two years, with plans of doing the same for the upcoming 2011-12 school year.
He made All-FCIAC First Team Doubles this past spring in tennis after being All-FCIAC Honorable Mention as a sophomore. He was All-FCIAC Honorable Mention in football and recognized by his coaches as the Outstanding Junior Player.
Kevin has been on the Honor Roll every marking period in high school.
Chase Urban, New Canaan
Marysa Walsh, Fairfield Warde
After spending her freshman and sophomore years as an excellent student-athlete at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip, N.Y., Marysa transferred to Fairfield Warde during her junior year and helped lead Warde to the Class L state championship in 2010. This past year she was a senior co-captain.
While she was a student at Warde she was in the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society.
Sam Warnick, Fairfield Warde
Sam excels in sports and in the classroom, he volunteers for several community organizations and is an accomplished singer.
He had an 11-0 singles record in tennis during this past junior season and was also on varsity as a sophomore. Sam is also a varsity cross country runner. This past year he received the 2011 Physical Education Achievement Award.
Sam started the all-male acapella group, The Acafellas, and they have performed all over the state, including fundraisers for the FWHS Stand Club at Las Vitas, Relay for Life, Harmony for Haiti and Harmony for Japan.
He is a member of the FWHS Key Club and a Sports Anchor for Warde TV 2011/2012.
