The FCIAC’s girls and boys basketball teams will end the opening act of the 2012-13 season on Friday night before breaking from conference play for the Holiday vacation.

Most teams will be in action during the holiday week, as various tournaments are held, and will return to FCIAC play in the new year.

In the girls standings, three teams remain undefeated, including the defending champion Danbury Hatters, who are 5-0. Danbury, will host the Brien McMahon Senators (1-3) at 5:45 Friday.

Also checking in at 5-0 are the Stamford Black Knights, who have a big game on tap against the Staples Wreckers (3-1) at 7 p.m. at Stamford HS.

The Trumbull Golden Eagles are 4-0 heading into Friday’s action, and will host the Westhill Vikings (3-1) in another key early-season game at 7 p.m.

In the boys hoops standings, St. Joseph improved to 4-0 with its win over Darien on Thursday and has the top record in the league. The Cadets are idle on Friday.
