Five standout players from the FCIAC have been named to the Harrow Sports/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region team for Southern New England.
The honorees are Kat Huber of the Darien Blue Wave, Bridget Falcone of the New Canaan Rams, and Madison Hendry, Joanne Nazareth, and Lizette Roman-Johnston of the Wilton Warriors.
The All-Region team includes 16 players from the state of Connecticut. The NFHCA All-American teams will be announced on Monday, Dec. 10.
Nazareth, Falcone, and Huber are all seniors, while Roman-Johnston and Hendry are juniors.
All five players helped lead their teams to impressive records this fall, as the Warriors, Wave and Rams combined for a record 56-5-2-1, with four of the five losses coming in head-to-head match-ups.
Wilton went 21-1, was an FCIAC semifinalist, and won the CIAC Class M championship by beating Guilford, 3-0, in the final.
Darien was also 21-1, claimed an FCIAC co-championship, and won the CIAC Class L championship by beating defending champ Cheshire, 4-0, in the final.
New Canaan went 14-3-2-1 and reached the FCIAC semifinals as well as the CIAC Class L quarterfinals.
