Emily Niehaus
Greenwich HS
Greenwich High School senior Emily Niehaus is a three-sport athlete with the Cardinals' varsity soccer, ice hockey and tennis teams. A three-year starter at midfield/forward in soccer since her sophomore year, Niehaus was a captain as a senior, and helped lead the Cards to the FCIAC championship. She also earned an All-FCIAC honorable mention as a senior. In ice hockey, Niehaus has started all four years on defense, earning All-FCIAC First Team honors the last two seasons after gaining an honorable mention as a sophomore. This winter, Niehaus captained the team, which finished as the runner-up in the State tournament. On the tennis courts, Niehaus helped Greenwich capture FCIAC and State Class L championships last spring. She is back at in her doubles spot for a third season, as the Cardinals attempt to defend their crowns. Academically, Niehaus is a member of the National Honor Society and is an AP Scholar with Honors. She will attend Dartmouth College in the fall.

Jenny Amato
Brien McMahon HS
Jenny Amato is a senior at Brien McMahon High School, and is a two-sport captain for the Senators' soccer and basketball teams. She has played at the varsity level in both sports for four years, and was a captain in basketball as a junior and senior, and in soccer as a senior. Amato also played varsity lacrosse as a freshman and sophomore. Amato was named the BMHS Scholar Athlete for Girls' Basketball and Girls' Soccer during her senior year, and also earned an Athlete of the Week award in basketball in 2007. She was named to the All-Tournament team at Masuk's Holiday Basketball Tournament the past two years, and was an All-FCIAC honorable mention this winter. A member of the National Honor Society, Amato has several notable academic achievements, including a third-place finish in the Regional/District Contest for National History Day and a second place finish in State of Connecticut Contest for National History Day, after which she was eligible to participate in National History Day at the Nationals in Maryland. Amato has played the cello with the Chamber Orchestra for BMHS for four years. Amato will be attending Springfield College in Massachusetts in the fall and will major in Physical Education/Health Education.

Curtis Watkins
Fairfield Warde HS
Curtis Watkins is a junior at Fairfield-Warde High School, and has competed on the Mustangs' football, wrestling and lacrosse teams since his freshman year. Watkins is a standout wrestler and has placed twice at the State Open and qualified for the New England Championships once. He has been an All-FCIAC honorable mention every season. Watkins has also received several academic honors.

Carleigh Mucci
Trumbull HS
Trumbull senior Caleigh Mucci has been a star gymnast for the Golden Eagles since her freshman year, earning All-FCIAC First Team honors every year during her high school career. A captain as a senior, Mucci was an All-American on the balance beam, uneven bars and floor exercises this year, earning All-State First Team honors. She was All-State Second Team the past year years. Mucci took All American Academic honors as a senior, was a National Team Member in the Senior Showcase, and her team qualified for the New Englands. She has been with Next Dimension Gymnastics for the past four years. Mucci has also competed for the Trumbull HS swimming and diving team since her freshman year, earning a captaincy last fall She ran outdoor track during her freshman and sophomore seasons. Academically, Mucci is a member of the National Honor Society, is on the school Honor Roll and is a with the STAND Club. She will attend North Carolina State University in the fall.
