Senior standout Jason Weinstein scored five goals and added an assist as the Trumbull High boys soccer team defeated Ridgefield, 6-2, on Friday afternoon in Trumbull.
Tristan Brandt scored both goals for the Tigers, helping the visitors slice a 3-0 hole to 3-2 at the half, but Ridgefield couldn’t get over the hump. Brandt’s second tally came off a scramble following a long free kick.
Ridgefield keepers Ray Dearth, Ryan Sheafe, and Robert Buthorn combined to make eight saves, including a diving stop by Sheafe in the second half.
