Dunning Field holds plenty of fond memories for the players on the New Canaan girls soccer team.

Hopefully, the best is yet to come.

With Senior Night festivities as a backdrop, the Rams scored twice in each half and delivered a dominating 4-0 shutout victory over the Westhill Vikings on Monday night at Dunning Field. The win not only honored the seniors in style, but also clinched the FCIAC’s No. 4 seed and a quarterfinal home game in the league tournament.

“We didn’t want it to be our last game on Dunning,” senior co-captain Katelyn Sparks said. “Luckily, we’ve secured the No. 4 seed, which was our main goal apart from winning on Senior Night. It was more about being able to play another game on Dunning.”
