NEW CANAAN — Depth has helped key the Greenwich boys swimming team’s unprecedented success over the years and Friday’s season-opener showed the Cardinals also shouldn’t be shorthanded in any event this winter.
Accustomed to beginning their season with a victory, the Cardinals rang in the new year in familiar fashion, defeating a longtime conference rival in a much-anticipated meet.
Winning 11 of 12 events, seven-time defending State Open and Class LL Champion Greenwich registered a convincing 137-49 win over New Canaan before a big crowd at the New Canaan YMCA.
