DARIEN — Darien senior Patrick Thurlow was answering a question about playing against a goalie as talented as New Canaan’s Beau Johnson when he quickly shifted some of the focus closer to home.
“I will say Chris Schofield is the best goalie because he’s mine, but Beau Johnson is right up there,” Thurlow said.
Thurlow and his goalie could share the spotlight on Wednesday, after Thurlow scored the game-winning goal 4:10 into overtime to give No. 3 Darien a thrilling 2-1 win over top-ranked New Canaan at the Darien Ice House.
