Cummiskey’s dominant third quarter on faceoffs helps No. 1 Darien pull away from No. 2 Staples

DARIEN — It was circled on the FCIAC boys lacrosse calendar for a while, No. 1 vs. No. 2, and two of the top faceoff players around were ready to meet.

Tighe Cummiskey wasn’t thrilled with how he responded to that in the first half for top-ranked Darien, but in the third quarter, he helped the Blue Wave keep possession, go on a big late run and defeat No. 2 Staples 15-10.
