DARIEN — The Greenwich football team is ranked No. 4 in the state, is second in the Class LL standings, and has won six of seven games this season.
However, the only number the Cardinals wanted to talk about on Saturday was 15. That had been the number of years since they had defeated Darien.
Greenwich grabbed the lead with a 21-point second quarter and then held on to defeat the Blue Wave for the first time since 2007 in a 28-20 victory at Darien.
