Four-team field set for FCIAC girls ice hockey tournament (updated times)

The 2018 FCIAC girls ice hockey semifinal schedule has been updated again, with games now back to the original times of 6 and 8 p.m., Wed., Feb. 21, at the Darien Ice House.

Here’s the updated schedule:

Wed., Feb. 21, at Darien Ice House

No. 4 Ridgefield/Danbury (7-7, 8-11-1) vs. No. 1 Greenwich (12-1-1, 16-2-1), 6 p.m.

No. 3 Darien (11-2-1 FCIAC, 16-3-1 overall) vs. No. 2 New Canaan (12-2, 17-3), 8 p.m.

The winners will meet in the FCIAC championship game on Saturday afternoon.

Original Story: The Ridgefield/Danbury co-op team is the fourth and final team into the FCIAC girls ice hockey tournament, as it knocked off the Fairfield co-op team Monday at the Wonderland of Ice.

With the win, Ridgefield/Danbury finished its FCIAC regular season with a record of 7-7 for 14 points, while Fairfield dropped to 6-8 with 12 points.

No. 4 Ridgefield/Danbury will square off against top-seeded Greenwich in the FCIAC semifinals at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Darien Ice House.

In the late semifinal at 8 p.m., No. 2 New Canaan will take on No. 3 Darien.

New Canaan locked up the No. 2 seed with a 9-0 shutout of Wilton/Norwalk/McMahon on Monday.

The HAN Network will carry both semifinal games live.
