WILTON — Even though the Wilton girls tennis team was playing on its home courts, unbeaten Staples remained the favorite to win Tuesday afternoon’s FCIAC championship match.
Less than two hours after the finals began, the top-seeded Wreckers had shown why.
Straight-set victories in two singles matches and two doubles contests gave Staples a 4-0 triumph over third-seed Wilton and a second consecutive conference title.
