Friday night was supposed to be the first official game of Lou Marinelli’s 40th year as head coach of New Canaan football.
Instead of a celebration of that milestone, however, he and his Rams are sidelined; shut down by the CIAC’s decision to follow the Department of Public Health’s recommendation and not play 11-on-11 football this fall due to concerns over the possible spread of COVID-19.
