RIDGEFIELD — Three days ago, the Wilton and Ridgefield girls lacrosse teams played a regular-season game in a driving rain with temperatures hovering near 40 degrees.
So when U2’s “It’s a Beautiful Day” poured out of the PA system during a timeout late in the first half of Friday afternoon’s FCIAC quarterfinal — played under strong sun and temperatures in the low 70s — the song sounded doubly appropriate.
