Early gamble pays off in Trumbull’s lopsided win over Ludlowe

TRUMBULL — The gamble paid off.

Going for it on fourth and one just a minute into the game, Trumbull coach Marce Petroccio told his quarterback, Colton Nicholas to do what he does best, push the ball forward.

And so, he did.

It might have been just a two-yard gain, but it was more than enough to get the Eagles the momentum they needed. The end result was a touchdown, the first of many as Trumbull scored early, and often, rolling past Ludlowe 46-7 Friday night at McDougall Stadium.
